India trumped its own record of having the world’s largest solar-powered cooking system with the unveiling of a new system at the shrine of 19th century saint Sai Baba in Shridi, India. The new and improved system can feed up to 20,000 people per day and generate some 3,500 kg of steam daily—which will ultimately save 100,000 kg of cooking gas annually. Partially paid for by the government, the cost of the system was about $280,000.
